Abstract

The postmodern man is a part of being and one of his main attributes is the process of “becoming”, and to allow the “being” freedom is to move from subject to object. To Deleuze, removing “subject” doesn’t mean downgrading it to an animal but it means that cognition is possible for human beings through two aspects: subject or thought and body or emotion. Therefore, when we decide to separate “subject” and human we primarily reinforce the emotion.
We have the way for our cognition through the experience, which forms our knowledge of the subject, too. This attribute helps us to prioritize our emotion and accordingly our body, and this leads to a situation in which we maintain our attention on the immediate experience, thereby we allow for increased recognition of mental events in the present moment without any judgment like a human without reason; and this is what existentialism asks human beings for and is the exact role of human required in Gestalt therapy.
This research discusses the concept of human being as a subject beyond rationalism from Deleuzian viewpoint and to define it in the psychological realm of empiricism, through reading a play based on empiricism.
